Letters from Vienna #24
The Gods in White
I remember distinctly my visit to Mauthausen, the largest concentration camp in Austria, which was built near Linz in 1938. It was here that Karl Josef Gross (1907-1967), who had been transferred to the Robert-Koch-Hospital in Vienna (today the Klinik Favoriten), tested vaccines for Paratyphoid fever on over a thousand prisoners. He referred to his subjects as “Werkstoff” (material) or “Versuchsmaterial” (test material) and he hid their inevitable demise under such words as: “Lazarettbehandlung” (hospital treatment) or more directly: “Exitus”, which needs no translation. He did this all on behalf of a Pharma company: Behringwerke (at that time part of IG Farben and later part of Hoechst) and (like many who experimented on prisoners) he continued to work as a doctor after the war.
His name reminded me of another Gross: Heinrich Gross, whose long and successful career and above all his honouring by the Austrian state caused a veritable scandal here in the 1990s.
Years later the story of one of those who was nearly murdered by Gross: Friedrich Zawrel, was put on stage at Vienna’s Akademietheater, which is part of the renowned Burgtheater.
Friedrich Zawrel, whose father was an alcoholic and whose mother proved unable to support the family, grew up under extremely difficult circumstances. He once said: “When I see pictures from the Third World today, many things remind me of my early childhood years in Kaisermühlen (a working-class district of Vienna). If you had ten Groschen, you were an emperor. When my mother had a few Shillings, seven people knew how to eat their fill.”
Once the family was evicted he was sent away and after several escapes from a foster family, he finally ended up in the Am Spiegelgrund hospital, the second largest “specialist children’s department” in the German Reich, where sick, disabled and other children were treated. This was where around seven to eight hundred euthanasia murders took place.
The resident doctor Dr. Gross classified Zawrel in a report as “genetically and socially inferior” and tortured and tormented him with numerous “medical” experiments. Friedrich Zawrel however was able to escape with the help of a nurse and was able later to tell his tale; he was one of the lucky few.
Perhaps, I reflect, doctors are able to give the Covid “vaccines” to patients because they regard them as “genetically and socially inferior”. This is, to my mind at least, a more compelling hypothesis than the “double” theory propounded by Robert J. Lifton (who was inspired by William James’s “divided self” and Alphonse Daudet’s “Homo duplex”). Or do many seriously believe that the world is “overpopulated” and that the population needs to be reduced? Some might even take the “Climate Change” nonsense seriously and think they are acting on behalf of mother-earth. Or, perhaps, they simply have no ideas about vaccines and their effects.
Not far removed from where Friedrich Zawrel was tortured and tormented Thomas Bernhard spent a long, hot summer in 1967 while suffering from Morbus Boeck, from which he eventually died on 12 February 1989.
One of Bernhard’s recurring themes is the incompetence and arrogance of doctors who he sarcastically termed “Die Götter in Weiß” (the gods in white). This was because he blamed them on the premature deaths of both his mother (she was merely fifty-one at the time) and his beloved grandfather, whose influence upon his grandson ran through most of his writings. Perhaps worse still: it was by a sheer miracle that he himself survived their treatment.
Anybody even remotely aware of the significance and brilliance of Bernhard’s insights ought to be able to see through the current Scamdemic with ease. Had more people read more Bernhard, and actually understood it, the Scamdemic, in Austria at least, would never have been possible.
I recently visited a doctor who had once, with great reluctance, given me a flu vaccine. She had done so with the words: “If you really want it!” I didn’t understand at the time and it was only later that I realised that my immune system had been profoundly weakened. I got sick for no reason and I stayed sick for an inordinate amount of time.
I went back to her a couple of months ago, Vienna was deep in snow, and explained the effect of the vaccine and my reluctance to be experimented upon once more. I asked for an exemption but she explained that it was out of her power to grant one; no doctor could.
“Yes,” she enjoined “but the Covid vaccines are completely different”. To my horror she sounded more like a representative for Big Pharma than a doctor and that is, sadly, what most have become. Perhaps this is what they have long been and what they were to begin with. And perhaps this is why they were willing to experiment on prisoners in concentration camps. There is no day which passes when I am not grateful for the Nuremberg Code.
